Our Mission
Over a weekly hot breakfast, FTHP comes together with people in need in the hope of building bridges to essential services.
Over the years, FTHP has served tens of thousands of breakfasts and has provided thousands of community service opportunities for sponsors and volunteers. But more important for our friends in need, FTHP has been a dependable bright spot in their lives – something to look forward to, week after week – a hot breakfast, some friendly conversation, and warm hearts.
Breaking bread.
Building bridges.
Making friends.
What We Do
For the past 15 years we have been meeting people in need where they are and serving up a hot breakfast with the help of sponsor organizations and volunteers. Our primary service location is a parking lot on Edgewood Avenue in the Old Fourth Ward. We pour juice and coffee and bring a mobile grill to cook up eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, kielbasa and our world-famous cheese grits. We set up tables and chairs and join our guests to hear about their week and what lies ahead. It’s all about trying to make someone’s day a little better.
Sponsorship
We serve every Saturday at our Edgewood location:
You and your group of 10-13 volunteers will help us prepare and serve a hot breakfast outdoors to our friends on the street. Plus, you’ll get a chance to meet those we serve and hear their stories.
We meet on-site at 7:30am and are packed up and finished by 9am.
